2009 in Review
Wow, what a year it has been. I seriously think that life just gets better and better every year. We have had a great year, even though it did not end as we had planned, I still feel that God has blessed us more than we deserve. I feel that it is in the bad times, that I grow stronger in Christ and I see things much more clear. Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. Jeremiah 17:7
Looking back at everything that has went on in 2009, I wonder how we fit it all into one year!
When we started the year Deacon was just starting to eat baby food. I spent a lot of time in the kitchen making fruits and vegetables that I had never even heard of.
This year had many memorable events… sitting up, crawling, standing, walking and now running. Isn’t it amazing that he went from an immobile little being to a wild little toddler in just 12 months.
After several ear infections, trips to the doctor and sleep nights, Deacon got tubes and we are so happy with them. They have seriously made life so much easier.
This year also was a year of the 1st trips…to the beach
the zoo
and to his grandparents to visit by himself.
Of course we can’t forget Deacon’s 1st Birthday, celebrated twice.
These are just a few of my favorite times from the past year. I look forward to what 2010 holds, knowing that we will have more defining moments with each year. While we are looking to the future making our plans I know that as long as we are together and in God’s hands we are right where we need to be.
God’s gifts put man’s best dreams to shame. – Elizabeth Barrett Browning

( 3 / 23 )Love The Shirt
We are slowly getting back to reality. Yesterday we went to church and it was so nice to be there. We figured it up and I had not been in service since the beginning of November, due to being out of town and working in Little Life. Needless to say I was ready to be in church.I had forgotten all about this shirt that I had ordered for Deacon…isn’t it the cutest shirt ever.
Of course it looks even cuter on him.
Other than taking a long afternoon nap with me, Deacon enjoyed playing with Daddy. They played with Deacon’s new blocks…
Rested up from all their playing.
Love these two.
It was difficult sending Deacon off to daycare today since he hasn’t been in over two weeks. Who would want to be away from such a little ball of joy.

( 2.4 / 67 )Christmas Continues
We had a great Christmas. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family and eating more food than we will ever need. Even though we had our family Christmas before we headed north, we still had our stockings filled up on Christmas morning. Deacon enjoyed the thrill of pulling all the items out one by one and checking them out.
And Santa obviously thought that Deacon’s stocking was much bigger than it was because he had to wrap some things up since they didn’t fit. Hopefully, Santa will be better at this next year.
This is how Deacon opened every gift…one very little piece at a time.
Later in the morning the Taylor’s came over for Christmas…here is
Uncle Landon with his nephews.
Deacon got this new laptop and LOVES it.
He loves it so much he wouldn’t open any more presents…not even his new horse.
Bryan got this new tool belt and thought it was a great way to carry Deacon around.
Yesterday, Christmas vacation came to an ended…it was time to head back to Arkansas. Someone didn’t think he was quite ready to leave.
But why would he want to leave when he gets to take baths like this…
Even though the car was packed extremely full, it was a great car ride. Deacon got new DVD players for the car and we all are very thankful for them. Thank you MawMaw and PawPaw these are going to be lifesavers.

( 2.9 / 167 )The Barnard Christmas
We started our Illinois/Indiana Christmas adventure on Friday. When we got to Bryan’s parents house Bryan introduced Deacon to Fruit Loops…needless to say he loved them.
Deacon showed off his dancing moves.
He was excited to get Elmo!
Deacon loved his new shoes so much he thought he would see how they tasted.
We have decided that Deacon just might be a PaPaw’s boy.
We spent Saturday day just hanging out with the family and Deacon had lots of time to play with his cousins. I think these kids may think that their Aunt Brandi is the greatest…
And who wouldn’t love someone who will push them around in a laundry basket.
The next morning we headed to Grandma Dixie’s to see a lot more Barnards.
Todd decided to get Deacon involved in a Barnard tradition…wrapping paper ball war.
That afternoon Bryan and I decided to lay down with Deacon for a nap. When we woke up a couple hours later I could tell Deacon had a fever. We took him to the doctor and after about a day on an antibiotic he was feeling much better and the fever was gone.
