Happy Halloween
We want to wish everyone a Happy Halloween! Deacon is a skunk for Halloween. Have you ever seen a cuter skunk! Our little pumpkin.

For Deacon's first Halloween we went trick or treating around the shopping center and office building today. Everyone of course thought he was adorable. He had lots of Halloween clothes and I think he wore them about as much as he could. There are some more pictures below of some of them.

Thank you to Cayden and McGwire for the package for Deacon's first Halloween. He loved it! Halloween Pictures

Our trip to Tulsa
This past weekend we traveled over to Tulsa to visit Bryan’s Aunt Joyce and Uncle David . This was Deacon’s first time meeting them and of course he loved all of the attention. Bryan’s parents flew there to meet us and spend the weekend with us all and spend time with Deacon.
Deacon did great on the trip he slept most of the way. On Friday night we ate dinner with Joyce and David and spent time with them, and then Bryan picked his parents up from the airport late that night. Deacon tried to stay up to see Grandma and Grandpa, but it was just too late for him. Of course they fine with that and just held him while he slept. Grandma confirmed what everyone says, he looks just like his daddy. Friday was Deacon’s first time sleeping in his pack n’ play and he slept great. The next morning we all got up and ate breakfast and spent the morning just hanging out around the house. That afternoon Aunt Joyce took us on a tour around Tulsa, and of course Deacon slept through most of it. After dinner that night Aunt Joyce, Chris and I all went shopping. Tulsa has a great mall, I wish we had more time to shop! We had fun just us girls getting out. And I am sure the guys had fun at the house watching football and letting Deacon entertain them. Grandma Chris had to spoil Deacon bringing him some clothes and lots of books. When we went shopping we found some more clothes. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for the clothes and books. On Sunday we had to get up early and leave by 6 a.m. so Bryan could get back for a golf tournament. Grandma Chris got up early to see us off and love on Deacon for a little bit.

Thank you Aunt Joyce and Uncle David for having us this weekend and for all the great food. Aunt Joyce always has the best food when we visit. It seems like she always knows our favorites. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for flying out, Deacon was very excited to see you and spend time with you. He definitely loved being spoiled by all.

Here are some pictures from our trip. Tulsa Pics

2 months
Deacon is 2 months old today! Here are some things he is doing at 2 months:

•Smiling at everything
•He loves singing songs with motions
•Rolling from his back to his side consistently and sometimes all the way to his tummy
•Holding on to toys when you place them in his hands
•Playing with his hands constantly
•Holds his head up when you sit him up
•Sleeping 6 to 7 hours at night!

We have started working with the bumbo seat and he absolutely loves it. I am still not too trusting of him so I still support his head. But he will be sitting in there on his own in no time I’m sure.

Here are some pictures from the last few days.

First night away
This week has been a very busy week for Deacon, we went to work (part-time), MaMaw Tonya flew in and he had his first night without Bryan and me. My mom and Bryan started convincing me when I was pregnant that we should go to the marriage retreat this weekend. I was very apprehensive about going and leaving Deacon overnight. Not because I didn’t think my mom could handle it, I didn’t know if I could handle it. So I agreed to one night. So Thursday night we picked MaMaw up at the airport, of course we were a couple minutes late and she was waiting on us, sorry! I will have to say that was my fault Bryan kept trying to hurry me along but I was sure her flight was running late. She was surprised at how big Deacon was. She had went shopping last week and had bought some clothes and decided to bring a few things with her instead of waiting until Thanksgiving to give them to him and thank goodness she did because they fit now. Thanks for all the clothes! Friday our day was filled with running errands and a little of shopping but we were kind of on a time schedule so Bryan and I could go out to eat before the retreat. It was very hard leaving and saying good-bye. I know my mom thought I was crazy telling her exactly where everything was in the house and how we do things. It was very hard leaving and saying good-bye. I was even having second thoughts, especially when we couldn’t find the keys to the car, I was sure that was a sign. We did leave an hour later than we wanted but we had plenty of time so it was no big deal. We had a great time and it was nice to have some time with just Bryan and me. I was so excited to get home today and see him. We were only gone for 24 hours but it seemed like an eternity. Mom and I had planned to go shopping this evening and I said that we would leave Deacon with Bryan, but I insisted we take him along. So we survived our first night without Deacon. It was probably the first time in 6 months I didn’t wake up through the night. That was nice, but I will be fine with getting up at 4 tonight. Here are some pictures from this week. 8 weeks

Deacon Goes to Work
Today was our first day at work. Deacon did great. He hung out in his swing and took great naps today. I took a blanket and made him a little bed in the floor under my desk and he slept better there than he does in his crib during the day. I wasn’t really for sure if I would be able to get much done with him there but surprisingly I got a lot accomplished. Deacon of course entertained Carolyn and Patrick with his sounds while he was sleeping. He still enjoys moaning while sleeping peacefully. I am so thankful that I am able to transition back to work and take him with me. I told Bryan tonight this will be much easier for me, I think. But, I am sure the first week he goes to daycare I will be a wreck. This work thing isn't too hard! Okay so maybe it is a little exhausting.

This weekend I found a swollen lymph node behind Deacon’s right ear and of course I googled it and diagnosed him with an ear infection. He didn’t have any other symptoms, he did not act like he was in pain, he was eating great and I took him temperature several times and he never had a fever. Yes, I am a paranoid first time mother. Then to top it off I had one of our friends in our small group who is in medical school look at him last night. So, first thing this morning I called and got him a doctor’s appointment. Thankfully, he does not have an ear infection! She said he looks perfectly fine and that is common. They did weigh him and he weighs 11lbs 11.6oz. If you remember the first few doctor’s visits they were worried because he was not gaining weight, well that is not the case anymore. The doctor said he is not having any problems with gaining weight now! Then she proceeds to ask me what I am feeding him. No, I do not feed him hamburgers and fries, he just has milk. So, I guess we have a big boy on our hands. We go back in 2 weeks for shots, and I am making Bryan go with us for that appointment.

In the pictures above he has on a bib because he has been drooling like crazy. On Sunday morning I picked him up out of bed to find that the front of his sleeper and his sheet was soaked in drool. He goes through little spurts so when I notice he is drooling I try to keep a bib on him. He is not really sure yet if he likes them. When he is laying on the floor playing his arms go crazy and somehow he always ends up with the bib over his face. I hope this is just a little thing he is going through and doesn’t mean he will be teething early.
