Oh, boy!
Deacon is doing great. He is sleeping great at night, but I probably shouldn’t say that because then tonight he won’t. Everyone continues to say they can’t believe how alert he is. During the evening he loves to be up looking around. Today was Bryan’s first day back at work, so Deacon and I were on our own. We really missed having Bryan here today but they have had a lot of Daddy and Deacon time tonight. I had laid him down in his bed after his last feeding and when I walked back in the living room Bryan was holding him. We had our first diaper changing accident tonight, Bryan was changing him then next thing you know he was peeing everywhere. I knew it was only a matter of time before this would happen. Deacon has been the focus of 443 shutter snaps in 3 days, which means he will have nearly 1 million pictures by his 18th birthday. We'll see if we can keep it up!We came home from the hospital on Friday about 6:30pm and were welcomed by our family. It was a great feeling walking into our house as parents for the first time.
Ashley is recovering very well and is feeling good. Deacon started to show a little Jaundice, so he has been sun-bathing all day!

( 3 / 26 )It's a new day...It's a new life
Well our first night was one with many interruptions from nurses...However, Deacon slept great. He was in our room till his 3am feeding and then went to the nursery. He came back for his 6am feeding, but didn't eat much. He then returned to the nursery to see the pediatrician and Ashley's doctor.Click on 'Photos' on the right for pictures. 4:20pmDeacon is here...He arrived at 3:29pm. He weighed 8lbs. 3oz. and was 20.5 inches long. Here are his first few pics...More to come. Thanks so much for all the Prayers!

2:00pm
Big News...Ashley is now almost 9cm and the nurse is going to call the Doc. This may be the last update for a while. I'll have pictures as soon as I can.
1:30pm
Epidural is in and WORKING! Doctor came by about 12:45 and she is now at 4cm. All the family is here and waiting. We've had 6-8 friends stop by during their lunch breaks, so the room has been full for a while. Thanks to Josh for bringing me some Sonic!!! And Ashley loved the ice from Sonic.
10:50am
Contractions are picking up and are getting stronger. Ashley got her first dose of pain medication at 10:15 and helped a little. She is getting uncomfortable from being in the bed for 5 hours. Just in case you were wondering...I'm feeling better after eating a Nutty Bar.
9:45am
The doctor visited at 8:30 and she was still at 1cm. He did break her water, so things should start to pick up over the next few hours. I've heard two loud screams from nearby rooms so we are not alone today. My pop-tarts at 5am are wearing off, but I'm sure Ashley is just fine since she has had two cups of ice chips...since last night. Child birth is rough!
7:00am
We got in our room about 6:15 after Ashley had a presidential-like signature party. After the nurse put the contraction monitor on we realized that she is having contractions every 7 minutes. They started the pitocin about 20 minutes ago, so hopefully Deacon decides to start working his way South. Ashley parents got into town last night and Bryan's parent should be here about noon today.
4:30am
We're up bright (actually its still dark) and early packing last minute items. We are headed to the hospital at 5:20. Hopefully I'll be able to continue updating everyone throughout the day.
