Mommy's Little Helper...or Not!
Today I was able to get a lot of cleaning done while Deacon was napping. Once he woke up he decided he was going to be Mommy's little helper. First he helped vacuum. I just wish this toy really worked!

He also was helping me earlier in the day. While I was folding laundry he grabbed a rag out of the basket and when into the kitchen and was "cleaning" the floors and chairs. The next time I looked over he was dipping his rag into Maggie's water bowl and "washing" the wall. What a great helper!

Then I guess he decided cleaning was too much work.

When I went to vacuum his room, he grabbed his computer and sat in the middle of the floor, refusing to move.

Maggie decided to join him.

Since he loves playing in his bed he gladly rolled around in there while I cleaned his room.

He also did some reading.

This is what I get when I tell him...say cheese. It's kinda scary!

Later in the day he decided he wanted to go for a ride in his wagon when it was time for me to cook dinner.

What's a Mommy to do when she needs to get things done? I guess only 1 thing...get creative.

This is one of Deacon's favorite games to play (his Daddy taught him this). He lays in the floor.

And then throws the ball up in the air and tries to catch it.

This is obviously very entertaining to him!

Sorry these pictures are huge, not sure what the issue is.

Weekend Wrapup
Saturday we had a great family day! We spent the morining hanging around the house in our pajamas. I went to Rhea Lana's and got Deacon lots of summer clothes! When I got home we packed up and headed to the zoo. We only had about an hour before they closed but it was a beautiful day.

Deacon loved looking at the animals, there was 1 monkey that was his favorite.

We were pleasantly surprised to see some friends there.

When we got home Daddy and Deacon had lots of fun playing with bubbles.

Daddy tried to let Deacon blow some bubbles himself, but Deacon just tried eating the stick.

Last weekend we had the Baker's over for dinner and Deacon and Reed had so much fun playing. They ended up decided to have some play time in Deacon's bed. They had so much fun laughing and squealing (mostly Deacon). They were great entertainment for us.

Afer we got home from church yesterday we all took naps. There is nothing better than a Sunday afternoon nap. Especially after you have spent the morning with 25 one year olds!

Last night we had one of our amazing women's event at church and as always it was spectacular. Christine Cain from Hillsong was the speaker and she is so motivating. She challenged us all to stop sitting at the gate and to get up and do what God has called us to do. There are so many people even in our community that need our help. I know for me I always get caught up in the business of life. So, I am challenging myself to do more for the kingdom. I'm not exactly sure what that it is yet, but I have a few things in mind and I am rely on God to point me in the right direction.

More pictures

And just in case you need more Deacon check this out.

Incourage
I love this post. It is so true and such a great analogy.

I think I first learned this a little over 12 years ago when my grandma was diagnosed with cancer and I am still working on it. I guess you can say I'm a slow learner with some things. Thankfully, God knows the big picture and never leaves us.

I know several friends and family members who are going through rough times and I wish there was something that I can do to make it better. But in the end God is the one who is in control. As much as we beg for God to step in and rescue us, because we think that is the "right thing" he sees the bigger picture and we have to trust that his way is the best. Sometimes that is easier said than done. I don't know if I will ever understand why somethings happen, but once again I just have to trust God.

As was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave nor forsake you. Joshua 1:5

Pooping Place
Deacon has a certain place he goes to when he has poop and that would be...

That's right he goes and sits in his car.

Let's hope he outgrows this by the time he is 16!

A couple of weeks ago I went here and ordered this canvas.

You can get an 8x10 and just pay shipping and handling or you can upgrade and get a great deal. We decided on a larger one and love it. Now we are just trying to decide if we are going to frame it and where to put it.

Miracles
Miracle...the dictionary states the following meanings:
1 : an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs

2 : an extremely outstanding or unusual event, thing, or accomplishment

I on the other hand describe a miracle as God's hand at work. In my lifetime I have seen these said miracles. A parent was told their child will probably not make it and if she does that there would be serious complications. Then a few short weeks later she is taking home a healthy little girl. This little girl's outcome goes against the odds and the medical world. What else could have it been other than God? In my opinion...nothing.

It was only a few weeks ago that I was sitting at lunch with a friend who had been going through a rough time and things just seemed to be getting worse. I told her then don't give up just yet, God can still work a miracle. We both realized at that time that God's miracle was her only hope. And just last week I learned that God had came through once again and performed a miracle.

For the last few months we have been praying for a miracle for Bryan's brother and his wife who is carrying twins. They were told several weeks ago the one baby would not make it, but the little guy (or girl) is a fighter and he is still hanging on. At this point it is a miracle that he (or she) is still alive and growing. God has answered our prayers each week when we ask for a miracle for that baby to have a strong heartbeat and continue growing. However, in the last couple of days they have had some devastating news that both babies could possibly have heart issues and they are both at risk. We are once again to asking God for a miracle for ones that we love. We know that he is in control in the situation and we are praying that his plan is a miracle. We are also praying that Brandon and Jessica feel God's presence and comforting every day.

It's times like these that you hold your kids a little tighter, kiss them goodnight just one more time or go into their room just to watch them sleep. It's times like these that you realize that every child is a miracle. The process from conception to birth is so complex and I think too many times we expect that everything will go flawless, when in fact we need to be praising God for his amazing work when we have a healthy pregnancy/baby. I know personally that I took this for granted when I was pregnant for Deacon. But with my second pregnancy I definitely learned to step back and realize that every healthy pregnancy and baby is a miracle by God.

I love this song and especially this video because it reminds me that faith is when there is no other option. God shouldn't be your back up plan...he should be your #1 plan.

Tonight, tomorrow and so forth we will be praying that in the coming months Deacon will have two healthy little cousins. We are also praying for my friend who has seen the beginning of the miracle we having been praying for and we are continuing to pray that there is happy ending. We would also like to ask you to join us in praying for both situations. God is in control of both situations...who more could we trust?

I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted. Job 42:2
