1st Flight
We started our trip around 7:00 pm on Friday, a little later than we planned but we were on our way. When we were almost to Illinois the snow started falling. It really didn't seem to be a problem until we were about 15 minutes from my parents house. Although when the snow started falling I told Bryan that if we were in Arkansas the state would have already been shut down, being that they don't believe in salt trucks. But we arrived safely about 1:30 am.

Our plan was to get out of Wayne City early and get over to Edwardsville to spend time with Deacon. But instead we went and ate breakfast and then went to watch Cayden play basketball since we had never seen one of his games. We weren't surprised that he was great!

We only stayed for a few minutes and then headed out to Uncle Landon's house. Deacon had so much fun at Uncle Landon's. Landon always lets Deacon help him on the computer.

Deacon loved playing with Landon's TV, for some reason he kept hugging it.

He also loved playing with water bottles too. Uncle Landon even let him drink out of them all by himself.

Landon also decided to try to change his diaper today by himself, he later informed me that Deacon peed in the floor. He said he took off his diaper and went to throw it away before he put the other one on him. When he got back to the living room Deacon was peeing in the floor. He learned a valuable lesson today...you always put the new diaper on before you leave the baby.

Landon took us to the airport today so we could leave the snowy winter weather and get to the beach. We got to the checkout counter and found out that one of our bags was over 50 lbs, which I was not surprised. So after a little shuffling around we got all of our bags under 50 lbs and we were on our way to security. I was a little nervous about this aspect because I had never done it with Deacon. Not to mention I didn't know what the procedure would be to get his milk and juice through security. Thankfully, it all went very smooth. We did have to wait a few minutes for his juice and milk got tested but finally got the all clear and we were on our way.

Deacon slept for about 20 minutes on the way to the airport so I was a little nervous about how he would do on the flight. Before we even pushed back from the gate he was getting restless, I was afraid we were in for a very long flight. When we got ready to takeoff I had him sit on my lap so he could see out the window and before we were in the air he was out. He slept the entire flight! He woke up after we landed and were at our gate. We had a very sweet lady sitting beside us, and after the flight she told Deacon he was so good. She said she was afraid to say anything during the flight because it might jinx it. Needless to say his 1st flight was a success!

All through the travel process Deacon did great! Here we are waiting for Bryan to get our rental car.

Traveling can be so rough, especially when you are carried and pushed around all day!

We arrived in Marco Island about 7:30 where Kent, Chris, Leon and Dixie were all waiting and watching the Super Bowl. Deacon was so ready for freedom! He ran around like crazy and soaked up all the attention he could get.

New Job
From the time I was a little girl, I always knew I wanted to be a Mommy. Even when I was picking a major for college I knew more than anything I wanted to be a mom. My mom was at home with us during the day growing up and I have lots of great memories that I made with her. I was a momma's girl, so much that I think I cried everyday of Kindergarden.

For the last several months we have been going back and forth on the idea of me staying at home and have been praying about it for a long time. I have been asking God to show me where I should be and today I feel like a got a very clear sign. So, what do I do? I call up my very loving and supportive husband to make sure he is really on board with it, and he of course says yes.

I in just a couple of weeks I will be starting my new job as a stay at home mom.

I have the best boss in the world. Seriously, who has a boss this cute?

(I know this picture is a repeat, but it is one of my favorite pictures of all time.)

And the CEO isn't too bad either. (that would be Bryan)

From our negotiations I understand that I will be taking a cut in pay, giving up vacation, sick days, holidays, and working 24/7. The benefits are much better though. I have been told we will be taking lots of field trips and doing tons of fun activities.

I have had someone say to me before, you went to college to get a degree and now you want to not work and stay at home? And my answer is yes, I spent 3 years getting a degree to prepare for a job in the business world, but I have been preparing my whole life to be a mom. Right now that is more important to me that any amount of money and thankfully God has blessed us and given us the opportunity for this to happen.

Snow Ice Day
The weathermen had been predicting a big winter storm for Friday. I always like to have one big snow a year and her in Arkansas that is usually all we get. And by big snow here that usually means an inch or more. I tried not to get too excited about the possibility of snow because more often than not their predictions seem to be off.

However, Friday we woke up to winter weather but instead of snow we were getting ice so we were stuck indoors. I always feel like if we are at home all day I need to do an activity or project with Deacon just to change things up. I decided to breakout the finger paint.

Deacon loves to paint and he does a great job. I still of course take his clothes off of him, even though it's washable it is easier to strip him down.

After painting it was time for lunch. Someone was just so exhausted that he couldn't stay awake to eat.

All day I kept saying I just wish there was a little bit of snow so Deacon can play in it. We didn't get much but when Deacon woke up from his nap we told him he could go play in the snow and he was so excited.

Aunt Brooke found a snow suit, well acutally two, that was Cayden and McGwire's and it was just Deacon's size. I didn't think we would get to use it but was so happy to have it yesterday and so was Deacon.

He fell down once.

But he loved playing in the little bit of snow we had.

He did not like his boots having snow on them, so he kept cleaning them off.

He loved it so much he didn't want to come inside, but it was freezing cold. I don't think we were out there for even 5 minutes.

Later that evening Deacon decided it was time to give Elmo a computer lesson.

This morning he woke up with high hopes that we would have more snow to play in, but we didn't...just the lingering ice.

Hiding
Deacon has found a new hiding spot.

Bryan has been out of town since Monday and we were pleasantly surprised when he called tonight and said he was headed home early.

Deacon decided he would hide out and wait for him...

And when the time was right he wanted to jump out and scare him. Deacon loves to hide just to say "Boo"

Unfortunately for Deacon he had to go to bed before his Daddy got home, but he will be pleasantly surprised tomorrow morning to have his favorite playmate back.
