Incourage
I love this post. It is so true and such a great analogy. I think I first learned this a little over 12 years ago when my grandma was diagnosed with cancer and I am still working on it. I guess you can say I'm a slow learner with some things. Thankfully, God knows the big picture and never leaves us.
I know several friends and family members who are going through rough times and I wish there was something that I can do to make it better. But in the end God is the one who is in control. As much as we beg for God to step in and rescue us, because we think that is the "right thing" he sees the bigger picture and we have to trust that his way is the best. Sometimes that is easier said than done. I don't know if I will ever understand why somethings happen, but once again I just have to trust God.
As was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave nor forsake you. Joshua 1:5

( 3 / 83 )Pooping Place
Deacon has a certain place he goes to when he has poop and that would be...
That's right he goes and sits in his car.

Let's hope he outgrows this by the time he is 16!
A couple of weeks ago I went here and ordered this canvas.

You can get an 8x10 and just pay shipping and handling or you can upgrade and get a great deal. We decided on a larger one and love it. Now we are just trying to decide if we are going to frame it and where to put it.

( 3 / 83 )Miracles
Miracle...the dictionary states the following meanings:1 : an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs

2 : an extremely outstanding or unusual event, thing, or accomplishment
I on the other hand describe a miracle as God's hand at work. In my lifetime I have seen these said miracles. A parent was told their child will probably not make it and if she does that there would be serious complications. Then a few short weeks later she is taking home a healthy little girl. This little girl's outcome goes against the odds and the medical world. What else could have it been other than God? In my opinion...nothing.
It was only a few weeks ago that I was sitting at lunch with a friend who had been going through a rough time and things just seemed to be getting worse. I told her then don't give up just yet, God can still work a miracle. We both realized at that time that God's miracle was her only hope. And just last week I learned that God had came through once again and performed a miracle.
For the last few months we have been praying for a miracle for Bryan's brother and his wife who is carrying twins. They were told several weeks ago the one baby would not make it, but the little guy (or girl) is a fighter and he is still hanging on. At this point it is a miracle that he (or she) is still alive and growing. God has answered our prayers each week when we ask for a miracle for that baby to have a strong heartbeat and continue growing. However, in the last couple of days they have had some devastating news that both babies could possibly have heart issues and they are both at risk. We are once again to asking God for a miracle for ones that we love. We know that he is in control in the situation and we are praying that his plan is a miracle. We are also praying that Brandon and Jessica feel God's presence and comforting every day.
It's times like these that you hold your kids a little tighter, kiss them goodnight just one more time or go into their room just to watch them sleep. It's times like these that you realize that every child is a miracle. The process from conception to birth is so complex and I think too many times we expect that everything will go flawless, when in fact we need to be praising God for his amazing work when we have a healthy pregnancy/baby. I know personally that I took this for granted when I was pregnant for Deacon. But with my second pregnancy I definitely learned to step back and realize that every healthy pregnancy and baby is a miracle by God.
I love this song and especially this video because it reminds me that faith is when there is no other option. God shouldn't be your back up plan...he should be your #1 plan.
Tonight, tomorrow and so forth we will be praying that in the coming months Deacon will have two healthy little cousins. We are also praying for my friend who has seen the beginning of the miracle we having been praying for and we are continuing to pray that there is happy ending. We would also like to ask you to join us in praying for both situations. God is in control of both situations...who more could we trust?
I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted. Job 42:2

( 3 / 97 )18 Months
18 months...I still can't believe it has been 18 months since this little ball of energy came into our lives. What Deacon is up to this past month: (along with some of my favorite pictures:
- sleeps about 10.5-11 hours a night. We are down to one nap a day ranging anywhere from 1-3 hours.
- Some of his favorite foods are spaghetti, chicken pot pie, rice and applesauce. He loves his milk for sure.
-loves being outside. If we are at home he wants to be outside.
- still mostly wearing 12 month, but is able to wear some 18 month clothes.
- Still 11 teeth
- Bath time is still his favorite time of the day.
- Jumping, he loves to jump all over the place. But his absolute favorite thing is jumping in his bed, which is what he is doing right now when he is supposed to be taking a nap.
- sitting in time out, usually at least once a day. He likes to test me, even after I tell him no. I will warn him with time out and he will do it again. Sometimes I think he likes time out. He definitely listens to his Daddy better than he does me.
- Mr. independent and a great helper around the house.

Some of Deacon's Favorites this month:
Favorite song: Itsy Bitsy Spider
Favorite toys: Blocks and vacuum
Show: Super Why
Movie: Elmo Loves the Earth
Deacon always keeps us on our toes. This age is so much fun, he is always on the go. Time is traveling so fast that I am just trying to cherish every moment with him.

( 3 / 81 )Playtime
Yesterday, Deacon went to play with Chandler and Kaleb. These boys had a blast running around, climbing and sliding.
They loved these big balls too.

They all loved looking at the fish on our way out.

I think we will be putting this place on our list to visit very frequently.

Deacon was so tired when we left, I didn't think he would even make it home before he fell asleep. As soon as we got home, he ate dinner and was falling asleep while trying to eat. So, I put him in bed and an hour later he was still not asleep.
My plan is to have an activity planned most mornings, you know so he won't be bored with just me, and then hopefully take great naps in the afternoon. Well that plan obviously backfired yesterday, or at least I thought.
For my last resort I decided that we would take a ride and hopefully he would fall asleep. It didn't look too promising at first.

But Maggie was happy to come along for the ride.

Finally, he was out and I was able to get him into bed for a three hour nap!

When he woke up he had a great surprise...his Daddy was home. Since it was still daylight we played outside and took a walk. Usually Daddy isn't home in time to do this with us, but Deacon was so excited he was that day.
