Uncle Landon Visits
Landon flew in on Friday and he and Bryan spent the afternoon golfing. That evening Deacon and I met them for dinner and Uncle Landon got his first dose of Deacon trying to grab everything. He learned real quick that Deacon’s arms can reach farther than one may think. Saturday morning we hung out around the house and played. And let me just say, Deacon loves his Uncle Landon. Landon would have him laughing non-stop. We went to Larry’s Pizza for lunch and of course ate way too much. We absolutely love their chocolate chip cookie pizza! Deacon really wanted to join in on the pizza eating. Every time a waiter or waitress would walk by with a pizza he would put his arms up in the air and try to grab it. Instead, he settled for some sweet potatoes. After lunch we went to Babies R Us and did a little Deacon shopping. It seems like I end up at that store every week, there is always something that I think he needs. Landon of course took Deacon and the cart and went to the toy department. He first brought him over to us wearing this…
Then Landon let Deacon choose between two toys and this is the one he picked.
After our shopping spree I headed to get a massage and the boys hung out for a bit. I told Bryan that a massage is always a “go to” present for me.
After church on Sunday we stopped by the hospital to see little Amelia, Ross and Heather’s new baby girl. She is absolutely precious. She was only 6lbs. 2 oz. I told Bryan, “I don’t even remember Deacon being this little.” And he quickly reminded me that he never was, ha.
Then we headed to McAlister’s for lunch and we sat by a couple who had a little boy that was born on the same day at the same hospital. ..how weird is that! Deacon was very excited to meet him. Deacon was jabbering to him and trying to grab a hold of him, but I think he might have scared the other little boy.
Landon flew out on Sunday, but before he did he changed Deacon’s clothes (Landon loves picking things out for Deacon to wear) and did a little photo shoot with him and here was the results:

( 2.9 / 27 )Deacon is 6 Months
I am amazed that Deacon is already six months. We have been so blessed beyond words with this sweet little boy. He has such a charming personality and loves to laugh and smile. Every time I hear his adorable little laugh I can’t help but laugh along with him. And it seems like everything makes him laugh. What Deacon is doing at 6 months:
• Sitting up: Deacon is sitting up like a pro. He may take a tumble, but they are few and far between. However, when he is done sitting up he just lunges on to his belly.
• Still grabbing everything in sight: Last weekend while MawMa Tonya was changing his diaper he grabbed some diapers off his changing table and when she took them away from him it broke his heart. Then he almost broke hers by crying.
• Touching and feeling everything: He is very interested in different textures.
• Clapping his hands
• Hitting everything: He loves hitting his toys together and on tables.
• Rolling around: If he has something he wants to get to he just rolls to it.
• Being a crazy sleeper: We will lay him down in bed facing one direction and when we go to check on him, he will have turned 180 degrees. And when we go to check on him again he will have turned again. He moves all over his crib!
• Moving down in his crib: At daycare they have moved him down to a lower crib and we are planning on lowering his at home either this weekend or next.
Everyday Deacon provides lots of entertainment for us. If we had a dollar for every time Bryan or I yelled at the other one to come watch what Deacon is doing we would be millionaires. It seems like he is always learning something new.

( 2.9 / 28 )Oh, the Joys of a Little Boy!
Last night Bryan was giving Deacon a bath and he yelled at me to come in there. I knew something was up because Bryan was busting up laughing. I walked in the bathroom to find Deacon lounged back in his bath seat with a big smile on his face and playing with his “thing”. I said, “What are you doing” and of course he just started laughing. This could have partially been because Bryan was still laughing at him. We all knew the day would come when Deacon would find his “boy” parts, but I didn’t think it would be this early. Yesterday I when I went to pick him up from daycare he was sitting in the floor playing with a little girl. While I was getting all his things gathered up I was watching them interact. Well, not so much interacting but taking toys from each other. Deacon would take a toy from her, then she would take it back, then they ended up pulling it back and forth…it was so funny to watch. Neither one of them were upset about it, and Deacon was actually smiling and laughing. He must have thought that was a fun new game.
