Bath Time!
Deacon loves to make funny faces and when you pull out the camera he really likes to show them off. Here he is in the bathtub showing some of them off.

Mom, put the camera away...I'm in the bathtub.

Bath time is someone's favorite time of the day.

I just can't get enough of this little guy.

He is so dramatic sometimes. He must get that from his dad, ha.

He obviously thought that was funny!

National Championship
Can I have your attention please…

I am very excited that the National Championship game is tonight!

I am ready to give out lots of high fives.

You see my favorite team is playing…

What!

Are you telling me the Hogs are not playing in the championship game?

Then I’m going to bed.

Love this Necklace
I told Bryan a long time ago that I wanted one of these necklaces either for my birthday or Christmas. Once I found out I was pregnant he told me that he had planned on getting me one for my birthday, but wanted to wait since another name would need to be added.

A couple of weeks ago I started thinking about this necklace again and really wanted one, since I didn’t get one for my birthday or Christmas. Bryan had told me that he was still waiting on my birthday present to come in and I had no idea what it was.

Needless to say I was very excited when I opened this.

I love it! Great job Bryan, it was worth the wait!

If you would like a chance to win a $50 gift certificate go here. You have to hurry though because the giveaway ends tomorrow at noon.

Another Sick Day with Mommy
Today I am home again with Deacon. He is doing much better today. He had a very slight fever this morning, but as the day goes along I think he is getting better and better. I guess only time will tell. But as of now I think he will be back at daycare tomorrow. Unless we get snowed in and that is exactly what I am hoping for. It doesn’t snow very often here and when it does it is usually only and inch…which that is enough to shut down most of the state, ha. But I will not be happy with an inch, I would like several inches. Hopefully, tomorrow morning we will wake up to a tall blanket of snow.

But today we are doing our best to enjoy today. I mentioned yesterday that Deacon does not want to eat or drink much. When that happens I am willing to do whatever it takes to get something in his little body. So today I thought I would try this big cup.

It worked like a charm.

I also mentioned that I got this rug out for him to play on, but it has become his new napping place. See Deacon doesn’t take great naps at home in his bed but we have found out that if we make him a pallet in the floor he sleeps much better. Bryan told me yesterday that he put Deacon on this mat to sleep and he slept great. I of course did the same thing today, actually he is sleeping there right now. Earlier this morning he took a nap in there and I had the door shut so a certain barking dog would not wake him. I kept thinking this is great he is sleeping great in there and I can get some work done. Then next thing I know I hear his door open and see his smiling little face walk out. A little while later I went in his room to find this…

I am not really sure how long he was actually sleeping in there. I guess he could have quietly been playing in there the whole time and I would have never known it, ha. But I do think he is ready for the beach since he pulled all of his swim trunks out!

Deacon also had a bubble bath this morning.

When I am sick a nice warm shower or bath makes me feel so much better and I think it works for him too. He is always in a much better mood once he has had a bath.

Got to run…someone is waking up.

Drip, Drip, Cough
Saturday morning we, well really I, decided it was time to do some boxing/bagging up of Deacon’s items. I had 1 box of clothes ready to go to the attic and knew that there was a lot more things that could also make the big move up stairs. I first went through his toy box, then headed to Deacon’s room and finished in the closet. With Bryan’s help, and some “help” from Deacon (if that is what you call pulling everything out of the box that I had just put in), we came up with this load.

Later on Saturday afternoon, we noticed that Deacon was getting a nasty cough. We didn’t have anything planned for the day so we just hung out around the house all day. We had already planned on Deacon and me staying home from church on Sunday, but we were surprised to find that morning that he was running a fever and had a runny nose.

Yesterday, I stayed home with him and took him to the doctor. It seemed to me that the same thing he had in Illinois was coming back. To make a long story short…if he is still sick tomorrow I am supposed to call the doctor back. After we got home from the doctor, Deacon took a very long nap! When he woke up he wanted to play. We pulled out his trucks and rugs, but he thought it was a dance floor (and Maggie thought she would try it out too)

And was so proud of himself.

That night when Daddy got home they snuggled and watched some TV…one of their favorite things to do together.

Today Deacon stayed at home with Deacon. When I got home Bryan was almost done cooking a delicious dinner, had cleaned out our guest room closet and was holding a crying baby. I’m thinking maybe he could be a stay at home dad! He says he loves it, but only for one day. I think he would go crazy doing it all the time, but he would be great.

Deacon and Daddy had lots of fun today, that is when Deacon was awake…Bryan said he slept a lot today too. They had new tricks to show me this evening and Deacon was of course proud of all his new talents.

When I talked to Bryan this afternoon he thought that Deacon was doing much better, but by the time he went to bed he wasn’t feeling so hot. It seems like after his naps or bath he seems to be doing better, but then it goes downhill from there. His fever is back up, he is fussy, he is coughing less frequently, and his rose is running constantly. Poor little guy is not wanting to eat or drink hardly anything, so we are at the point we will do whatever it takes to het him to either.

Deacon is hoping to kick this bug soon.

Or he might have to beat someone up with his bat.

Is that outfit not the cutest…he looks like a Cardinals’ super fan just like his cousins.
