1st Day of MDO
In preparation for Mother's Day Out I got Deacon a backpack.

I just loved it and so does he.

So, today was the first day of his MDO. And I was a bit concerned about us being there on time, which I know is crazy. I used to be at work at 7:30 and now I feel rushed to have him at MDO at 9:00. Nonetheless, we were up early getting ready. Here are his bags, lunch bag and backpack, all ready to go.

He was excited to go to "school" and play with his friends.

Here is the nap mat I ended up getting him. I thought it was so cute. I am just hoping he will take a nap on it with no problems.

He went to daycare full time for 15 months of his life, so I was kinda surprised that it was a little difficult leaving him. But he was happy to be there so it made it easier.

The first two weeks of his MDO I have doctors appointments scheduled, yuck. But this was one of the reasons we are sending him. However, right now I am at Panera enjoying a chocolate chip bagel while posting this and enjoying so "me" time, while I wait to go to the dentist.

Here are some more pictures.

Transitioning
We have been discussing transitioning Deacon into a new bed. But we knew the first step was to take the front off of his crib so it would be a gradual change.

Deacon of course wanted to help Daddy with this project.

Deacon was so excited when Bryan first removed the front of his bed.

But I was still nervous that it wasn't going to be this easy.

But so far it is going good. The first night, Sunday, Bryan put Deacon to bed by himself and it did not go smooth. Bryan ended up rocking him to sleep. Then not long after I got home, Deacon fell out of his bed. And by fall I mean rolled off a few inches, so we knew he wasn't hurt but it probably just scared him. But in no time he was back to sleep.

My biggest fear is that he will get out of bed and roam around the house during the night or play with his toys during nap time instead of sleeping. But so far, that has yet to happen. Yesterday at nap time he walked into his room, crawled into his bed and said Night NIght. Hopefully, it will continue to go this well.

Our Weekend
This weekend Deacon's friend Reed came over to jump with him.

Deacon was so excited about Reed coming over, he talks about Reed all the time. Today he talking on his phone and when I asked who he was talking to he said...Josh, Reed's daddy.

Saturday morning we went to this sweet little boy's 1st birthday party.

Deacon had so much fun playing at the birthday party.

This weekend was Life Group launch weekend at church so we had to be at all three services to meet the couples signing up for our group. Which also meant that Deacon was in Little Life for all 3 services. But since they feed them pizza and had fun activities during each service, he didn't seem to mind. We had a lot of new couples sign up for our small group and we are so excited about the upcoming semester.

I ended the weekend with dinner out with some great friends, while Bryan stayed at home with Deacon and Owen. Once again Deacon was very excited that he had a friend coming over to play.

We had a great but busy weekend to start off a busy week.

Thank You Cards
This week Deacon and I have been working on thank you cards from his birthday.

Deacon gave his personal signature to each card.

Can you see how much he is concentrating...his tongue is always out when he is concentrating.

When you're 2...
you are old enough to be the lead singer in a band with your cousins!

Cayden and McGwire brought their game over for us to play and Deacon ended up loving it too.

Remember here I said we might have a future rock star on our hands. I love how he is getting the crowd into it in this picture, ha!

You got to love the leg kick!

And then it was time to be the drummer.

Such concentration.

Thanks Cayden and McGwire for letting Deacon be in your band. Maybe one day you will get a gig somewhere other than your grandparents basement. But until then we will be your biggest fans.

Check out more pictures here.
